Russia is reportedly equipping its air power with new, air-launched hypersonic cruise missiles.
The missiles, which use scramjet engines to fly at very excessive speeds, are tougher to shoot down.
“Within the pursuits of long-range aviation, the event and provide of the complete vary of aviation weapons, together with new cruise hypersonic missiles, is being carried out,” Interfax cited Sergei Kobylash, the Russian commander, as saying.
In August Russia deployed hypersonic Kinzhal (Dagger) missiles thrice in Ukraine, in line with Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The missiles had been a part of an array of recent hypersonic weapons President Vladimir Putin offered in 2018 in a bellicose speech wherein he mentioned they may hit nearly any level on this planet and evade a US-built missile defend.
